On Friday the 13th of November the final day of the Acquiring Skills for the Workplace training was celebrated.
For the past 6 weeks Diversity Resource International have been guiding, training and supporting a group of 10 individuals every Friday.
The course involved specific training on job applications and interview skills.
Challenging mock interviews were set up and feedback was given from the assessor and their peers.
Students were also expected to complete 30 hours of voluntary work at a placement suited to their interests, with some students even being asked to stay on at their workplace due to their impressive professionalism and ability to learn within the new environment.
Alejandra, one of the course leaders, said:
“After seeing the feedback from all the students I can say that this course was a confidence booster for all applicants and challenging yet very rewarding for the organisers”
On completing the free course, students gained a LASER Level 3 accreditation in Acquiring Skills for the Workplace.
