Diversity Resource International (DRI) has been awarded a £15000 grant from Sussex Community Foundation. This grant will be used to recruit a Community Development Worker to work with Ethnic Diversity communities in East Sussex using community development principles of engagement and empowerment.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work with us at Diversity Resource International, who has experience of active engagement with BAME communities. The appointed person will work with the local communities to support them in becoming proactive in the issues which affect their lives; setting goals of improvement for them; responding to problems and needs through support and through facilitating empowerment and active participation.

The Race Equality Community Development Worker will engage with, listen to and work with BAME communities to voice their concerns to the relevant service providers, who will help them to become aware, better equipped and strongly-committed to meeting these needs and to take steps to make necessary sustained changes to their procedures and practices.

As such, we are looking for someone who is both passionate and experienced in working towards social justice, and is able to work alongside local BAME communities and service providers to initiate change and address problems and barriers where they exist.
