DRI has been awarded £10 000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to benefit East Sussex Local communities with digital communication training and resources. The funding will benefit individuals and small business owners who would like to use video conferencing software such as Zoom, Microsoft teams, Google Hangouts, and Skype to communicate to family members abroad and to use this communication method in their business for meetings, presentations and training.

The demonstrations and resources offered will not only help provide more skills and confidence in using these platforms but also give guidance on:

  • which platform to choose for your needs
  • How to connect and what do you need to host a meeting
  • security and privacy issues
  • best practices when you join or host a meeting
  • common problems you may face

What is more, the training resources can be made available in other local foreign languages for those individuals whose first language is not English and would benefit from this training.
