About the Project

DRI has been awarded £10 000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to benefit East Sussex Local communities with digital communication training and resources.

The training will benefit individuals and small business owners who would like to use video conferencing software such as Zoom, Microsoft teams, Google Hangouts, and Skype to communicate to family members abroad and to use this communication method in their business for meetings, presentations and training.

What does it cost?

The demonstrations which are presented as a series of short ‘how to’ videos and presentation transcripts will be offered as a free resource to enable our communities to develop.

This is made possible with funding from the National Lottery Trust fund.

What can you expect?

The resources will not only help provide more skills and confidence in using these platforms but also give guidance on:

• which platform to choose for your needs
• How to connect and what do you need to join and host a meeting
• security and privacy issues
• best practices when you join or host a meeting
• common problems you may face when hosting or joining a meeting.

What is more, the training resources can be made available in other local foreign languages for those individuals whose first language is not English and would benefit from this training. Please note that only the most popular languages are offered so make sure you indicate your choice of language when you sign up!

Watch this short introduction video to give you an indication of what to expect.

For those who are hard of hearing or would prefer sub-titles please select the subtitles or closed captions CC option on the YouTube settings on the video.
