Shades of Sussex Film Screenings

The Shades of Sussex film documents the stories of ethnically diverse individuals who have moved to the UK and are currently based in Sussex.

Originally released in 2022, the Shades of Sussex film has undergone an exciting expansion between 2023 and 2024. During this period, we incorporated the perspectives of four younger individuals, aiming to resonate with and inspire the next generation.

Our goal is to extend the reach of the film’s message, making it accessible to young people across East Sussex. To achieve this, we are currently arranging screenings in multiple schools throughout the region. Additionally, we’re organising public screenings in prominent towns such as Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes, Newhaven and Brighton.

This project has been made possible through the generous support of several organisations. The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Lewes District Council, Lewes Depot, and Vandu Languages have all played important roles in backing this project.

Their support has been significant in bringing this vision to life and ensuring that the film’s impactful message reaches as many people as possible. We are deeply grateful for their contributions and continued partnership in our mission to inspire and empower ethnically diverse communities in our local areas.
