On this page, we introduce you to our Founders and Directors, the people who lead our organisation. They are the captains of our team, and their strong passion guides all the things we do.
Mebrak, our founder, is the one who first had the idea to create Diversity Resource International (DRI). She looked at the world and saw places where things could be better. Now, the directors are the leaders who continue this work.
These amazing individuals, alongside ethnic minority communities in our local areas, are the reason why our organisation exists. They make sure we stay true to our mission and find new ways to help people.
Yaa’s background is in community development with migrant communities.
She has long been involved in devising curriculum resources for schools, supporting teachers and students to explore cultural diversity through imaginative and connected ways.
Originally from Eritrea, Mebrak is the founder and director of two organisations.
Vandu Language Services (VLS) is a business established in 1999 to provide interpreting, translation and health and social care advocacy to public and private sector organisations in and around Sussex.
Patrick has a background in mental health and health psychology, with an interest in health and social inequalities faced by minoritised communities.
Patrick’s role in DRI is that of Director of Research and Leadership and something he feels proud, privileged and humbled to be a part of.
